In 2005, I executed a project called, "The Next Big Thing". I told people that he was to become famous and people simply believed me and believed in myself. Simple, small screen printed posters were created with my own portrait on them, with the words, "THE NEXT BIG THING. The posters were handed out and hung on telephone polls - by the thousands as well as being made into costumes and larger art pieces. Several outside, public, impromptu performances were done in an attempt to create art spectacles and general silliness with the help of local art galleries, artists and general characters.
In 2008, Martin S. Gardea executed a similar project called, "THE NEXT NEXT BIG THING, with Justin's blessing, but completely on his own direction - and discretion. Many of the same strategies employed in, THE NEXT BIG THING were reapplied to, THE NEXT NEXT BIG THING, including the use of day-glo fliers and impromtu art spectacles and performances. Martin's narrative starts at the end of my own:

THE NEXT NEXT NEXT BIG THING project takes the, "BIG THING" series started by Justin Simoni (The Next Big Thing) and Martin S. Gardea (The Next Next Big Thing) to everyone and anyone who feels as if they're on the verge of great positive change, whether it be in personal growth, artistic breakthrough, scientific beauty, spiritual awakening or anything else that you see yourself have great potential in, but which may not have a finite name to.
To everyone and anyone who feels as if they're on the verge of great positive change in:
Personal Growth, Artistic Breakthrough, Scientific Beauty, Spiritual Awakening, or Anything Else.
Commit to your new personal greatness and take the first step by telling yourself and the world that you are that, "NEXT BIG THING".
The following places/dates had THE NEXT NEXT NEXT BIG THING performed and orchestrated. Each different venue was vastly different from the one before it. Four-color screen print blanks were prepared beforehand to be used to make instant, NEXT BIG THING's. A computer/camera/digital editing system was set up to take photos, edit them and print the photos onto the hand-pulled screen prints. The posters were then given away.
